Mahindra Two-Wheelers is gearing up to introduce a higher displacement variant of its best-selling Scooter Gusto in the early part of the next year. From last few months, it was rumoured that Indian manufacturer will be introducing a more powerful and accelerant scooter Mahindra Gusto 125cc soon and as per some sources, the upcoming scooter is production ready and will be launched by the company in 2016.

The Mahindra Gusto 125cc will be powered through a 125cc engine that develops a peak power around 9.86bhp and maximum torque of 25Nm. Along with it, the expected mileage figure is around 55kmpl. These are impressive numbers as the current 110cc scooter churns out 7.89bhp of maximum power and 8.5Nm of peak torque. The 125cc Gusto will be the second offering just after Rodeo UZO 125 in the current 125cc scooter range of Mahindra.

On the account of styling, the upcoming scooter is expected to have similar design cues as the current 110cc machine with minor updates in order to differentiate two. Expectedly, Mahindra Gusto 125cc will get all the features which are coming in the existing range of 110cc. Mahindra Gusto is the first scooter which has introduced a unique height adjustable seat feature. Other features include seat self-locking mechanism, quick storage pocket under instrument cluster with a multi-function remote flip key which makes it quick and easily accessible, along with guide lamps and large tubeless tyres. Besides these, the kick lever has been provided at the front, so that one can start it easily while being seated.

The suspension duties of Mahindra Gusto 125cc is expected to be carried out by the same telescopic front forks and coil type setup at the rear that comes in existing Gusto range and braking will be handled by 130mm drum brakes at both the wheels.

Expectedly, the new scooter will be previewed in 2016 Auto Expo at New Delhi in the month of February. It will carry a price tag of around Rs 55,000 and it will be locking its horns against the likes of Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access.
