Aprilia Tuono 660 Design

The Aprilia Tuono 660 borrows design inspiration from its elder sibling, the Tuono V4 Factory. The bike gets a semi-fairing with the iconic twin-pod headlamp with DRLs. The bike’s fuel tank looks quite muscular and has a sculpted design. The bike gets a golden-coloured inverted fork that complements its design. The windscreen, though it's a bit small, looks proportionate to the bike’s semi-fairing. It also gets an underbelly in the Piranha Red colour scheme, but it is narrower when compared to its faired sibling, the Aprilia RS 660.

Aprilia Tuono 660 Engine

The Aprilia Tuono 660’s name is synonymous with its engine configuration – 659cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It makes 105PS at 10,400 and 70Nm at 8,400rpm. It gets a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and a quickshifter.

The Aprilia Tuono 660 has a twin-spar aluminium frame. On the front, it has a 43mm Ohlins inverted fork with 110mm of front wheel travel. At the rear end, the bike has a preload-adjustable Ohlins monoshock with 130mm of wheel travel. Both the suspension units are electronically controlled, adjustable for compression and rebound. It has two 320mm disc brakes at the front with radially-mounted Brembo callipers; at the rear, it has a 220mm disc brake with a Brembo caliper too. The bike has 17-inch wheels wrapped in a 120-section front and a 180-section rear Diablo Rosso IV tyres. Its seat height is 820mm and it has a 15-litre fuel tank. The bike weighs 181kg (kerb). 

Aprilia Tuono 660 Features

The RSV4 gets a 5-inch TFT console with a dedicated race-mode layout. It also has smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation and backlit control switches. To handle all the power it makes, the bike gets a lot of electronics and riding aids, like an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) for cornering ABS (three levels) and traction control. In addition to this, the bike is equipped with multi-level traction control, wheelie and stoppie control, five riding modes, a bidirectional quickshifter, cornering lights, cruise control, and launch control. Apart from all these features, the bike gets metal braided brake hoses too.

Aprilia Tuono 660 Competition

The Aprilia Tuono 660 rivals the Kawasaki Z650, the Triumph Trident 660 and the Honda CB650R. The Aprilia is the most expensive bike in the list, followed by the Honda and then by the Triumph. The Kawasaki is the most affordable bike, at almost half of Aprilia’s price.
