Ather Rizta : Smooth ride with some drawbacks.
I bought Ather Rizta from MST Motors, Aizawl, on 9th September 2024 and have ridden around 3600 km in six months.
I had been wanting an Electric Scooter for a while, but the Ather 450 felt too small. So, I waited for Rizta, which is bigger and more family friendly. As soon as it hits the market, I booked it in advance, and it arrived after a month. The staff at MST Motors were great, they handled everything smoothly.
Regarding the riding experience. Riza is smooth, agile and very easy to handle. I love the speed and comfort. But, the passenger foot pegs are too small, making it uncomfortable for the passenger. I don't know why they made it this way. And yes, the pickup could be better.
One cool feature is the Magic twist where you can twist the throttle forward, which is in opposite to normal acceleration, to slow down, acting like an engine braking system while also charging the battery. It's very useful on mild slopes and while cornering, but on steep slopes, it makes the scooter skid, so better avoid using in those situations.
Pros & Cons:
I. Pros:
1) Fast and Smooth handling. 2) Easy to ride. 3) Good storage space. 4) Charges while going downhill. 5) Magic twist acts as an engine brake and recharges the battery.
II. Cons:
1) Passenger footpegs are too small. 2) No main stand, so parking on slopes is tricky and difficult. 3) No brake lock, making uphill and downhill parking difficult (I often use a rubber band to tie the rear brake lever). 4) Eco Mode is inconsistent, sometimes strong, sometimes weak. 5) Magic twist can cause skidding on steep slopes. 6) Can overheat if riding uphill for too long.
I really enjoy riding the Rizta. And it consumes about 1% battery per 1 KM, but Since Aizawl is full of hills, mileage varies. The pickup is smooth as cutting butter, but on long steep uphill roads, it can overheat. If that happens, you'll need to wait around 1 minute for it to cool down.
It handles .potholes way better than Suzuki Access and Honda Dio, which we also own. However, parking on slopes is a big headache.
On the bright side, Ather's after-sales service is excellent, and customer support is top notch.
If Ather improves parking issues and passenger comfort on Rizta, especially the footpegs and brake lock, Rizta could be an even better choice for hilly areas.

- My Ather Rizta ZSmooth Riding and I like the drive belt sound which is different from all. Good pickup in zip mode. Eco mode is very useful in rural drive. We can identify the vehicle, when our aged person using this vehicle very good vehicle. Very comfortable and easy to handle in highway and rural. The sitting space is very good. This is actually a family vehicle, a small family husband, wife and two kid can travel in this bike very comfortably. Very good vehicle. It can buy for all people. - Perfect scooty for style and comfortI was about to purchase Cng bike because of daily use and mileage but when I saw and ad about rizta. I was excited and then I calculated that I can ride 126 Km for just 30 Rs charging that was the moment I changed my mind for ather. Still while buying I was so confused that did I do the write thing as we normal people do. But when started riding the experience which I felt can't express in words this was the first time. I was using a ev. So much silent, And the pickup was superb, Also it has comfort but IDC range which was given that came down slowly now it has been more than 2 years I get 90 Km range. Rest is good. If ather improves battery again this will be the best in the market. Because there is no one who can be on the top in market if thing improve. What I like is stylish in look.
