Country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Motocorp has discontinued its Xtreme motorbike from the market. The company has taken this decision due to the popularity of Xtreme Sports. The dealers have stopped taking bookings for Xtreme as the Xtreme Sports is performing quite well in the market. Hero Motocorp Xtreme is priced at Rs. 75,025 (ex-showroom), whereas the price of Xtreme Sports is Rs 75,725 (ex-showroom New Delhi), offering better features and more value by just paying Rs 700 extra. Due to the same reason, the Indian consumers went for Xtreme Sports, which reduced the sales of former drastically.

The bike is still listed on the company’s official website but is expected to go off once the dealers clear all the stock. Hero Motocorp Xtreme is on sale from 27 months, however, failed to compete against the other bikes of the segment. Hero Xtreme is equipped with 149.2cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine that is mated to a 5-speed transmission, which produces 14.4PS of power and 12.8Nm of torque. The machine takes 5 seconds to reach 0-60 kmph.

Hero Xtreme is basically a successor of Hero Honda CBZ, which took the market by storm. CBZ was quite a popular motorcycle from Hero Honda at that time and it is still considered amongst the most popular 150cc bikes ever produced in India.
