The bike now comes with a ton of new features, all for a small premium of Rs 851 over the previous-generation Pulsar N250!

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 Launched

Bajaj Auto has launched the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 at a price of 1,50,829 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is only Rs 851 more than the previous-generation bike. The updated bike now comes with new colours, an inverted fork, a new digital instrument console, and a lot of new features.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 Inverted Fork

The major change that the bike has undergone is the addition of a new 37mm inverted fork. We expect this to have created some positive changes to the bike’s handling characteristics. This is something similar to what the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS160 underwent when they were updated with the same in 2023.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 Console

In terms of features, now the same digital instrument console that we had seen on the Pulsar NS200 has been brought to the N250. The console is an LCD unit which displays regular readouts like speed, tachometer readings, fuel level, mileage, trip meter and odometer readings along with displaying real time information such as distance to empty (DTE).

The console works in conjunction with the Bajaj ride connect app to provide features such as smartphone connectivity which brings call/SMS alerts, the option to accept or reject calls, and turn-by-turn navigation making the bike even more competitive in its segment. In fact, it is the cheapest 250cc bike in India with turn-by-turn navigation. The left hand switchgear has been reworked and now comes with a new button with which the rider can navigate the console. Other than this, the N250 features the same tank-mounted USB charging port that the previous generation bike had.

Other features include the addition of a traction control system and 3 ABS modes: Road, Rain and an On/Off Road mode (both first time on a Bajaj bike). The ABS modes modulate the level of ABS intervention, with the rain mode being the most intrusive, road a bit lesser and Off-Road mode dials down the ABS intervention at the rear wheel considerably to let a slide a bit. It also switches off the rear wheel lift off protection in that mode. Also, the traction control can only be switched off in this mode. Lastly, the ABS and traction control settings that the rider has previously used will be saved on the bike after turning the key off and switching it back on.

Bajaj has brought in wider tyres as well, with a 110-front and 140-section rear. Earlier the bike used to come with a 100-section front and 130-section rear tyres. The fatter tyre and the more sophisticated front suspension should ensure better overall handling.

The bike’s wheelbase has been shortened by 9mm, bringing it to 1342mm. The seat height is now 800mm, a 5mm increase from before and lastly, kerb weight has gone up by 2kg. Other than these changes, the underpinnings remain the same with braking duties handled by a 300mm front and 230mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. The bike has a fuel tank with a capacity of 14 litres and ground clearance is 165mm.

Bajaj has not altered the design of the bike and it remains the same, but where they have made some changes is the addition of new colours. The N250 now comes in Brooklyn Black, Pearl Metallic White, and Glossy Racing Red colours. The introduction of these new colours is a welcome move and have brought a breath of fresh air to the bike.

2024 Pulsar N250 Engine

The N250 is still powered by the same 249.07cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine which produces 24.5PS and 21.5Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

The Pulsar N250 goes up against the Suzuki Gixxer 250(Rs 1,81,400) and the KTM 250 Duke(Rs 2,39,000). At a similar price you can also get the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V(Rs 1,46,820) and Bajaj Pulsar NS200(Rs 1,54,522). All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250

All in all, the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 is a much better bike than the previous-generation bike, considering the amount of updates it has got. These mechanical and feature updates should help the Pulsar N250 stand better against its rivals. What sweetens the deal even further is that all these updates come at a price hike of just Rs 851, which is absolutely impressive.

Other than this, Bajaj did make 2 other announcements. The Bajaj Pulsar F250, the N250’s faired sibling, will get the relevant updates soon, and the much-anticipated Bajaj Pulsar NS400, the biggest Pulsar ever, is set to be launched on May 3, 2024.
