This 1200cc naked roadster is a more comfortable but equally competent iteration of Triumph’s sportier Thruxton R. The BS6 Speed Twin was unveiled globally in June.  

The 2021 Triumph Speed Twin is powered by a Euro 5/BS6-compliant 1200cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that churns out 100PS (3PS more than before) at 7250rpm and an identical 112Nm, but coming in at 500 revs less, at 4250rpm, paired with a 6-speed slip-assist gearbox. 

Suspension bits include an updated 43mm Marzocchi inverted front fork with cartridge damping and a pair of shock absorbers with adjustable preload at the rear. Triumph has equipped the bike with larger twin 320mm discs, with more premium Brembo M50 radial calipers up front. The rear continues with the same 220mm disc held by a Nissin two-piston caliper. Instead of the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III, the 2021 model rolls on Metzeler Racetec RR tyres wrapped on new 17-inch alloy wheels. 

The 2021 Triumph Speed Twin will primarily compete with the BMW RnineT. Another alternative would be the Ducati Scrambler 1100.
