As we all know in the Indian bike market when we go for a retro or a classic style bike the Royal Enfield comes in our mind.
Starting from the design of the bike, the bike holds an appealing approach. The power delivery of the bike is also on the adequate side with 19BHP and 28 NM (other specs are available on site) of torque which is sufficient for the city but if you are planning for a long ride toward a hill station or a laddakh really then I recommend go for the bullet classic 500cc which hold the same design but better power delivery. In terms of mileage, if you don’t go on the rough side then the bike will give you a mileage of 33-35 Km per litre which can be enhanced or can de decrease according to your riding style. Seat height is adequate for the person with hight 5 feet and 6 inches and taller, the riding posture is upright with a raised handlebar which support the driver, so won’t feel tired even after a long ride too, on the contrary the pillion seat is not so comfy in nature and the back seat fellow go on the rougher side. Talking about the ride quality, the bike absorbs the potholes very well because of the well-built quality of shock absorbers. Talking the breaking power because of the dual disc with ABS the bike come to halt in a matter of seconds in a panic breaking scenario and prevent the bike from a skid. Talking about the maintenance if you go ease with the bike the bike will go with a low maintenance mode and vice verse also. On every service, you have to spend approx. Rs.1200-1500 excluding major repairing.
There are also some cons of the bike which are; the bike goes only 80-95Km/h of top speed with ease and beyond that, it’s pretty hard to control the bike on the higher speed. The bike holds a lot of vibrations in it, well if you go with an early switch of gears then the vibration can be neglected but after the speed of 85kmph, they start creeping in again. There can be some oil leaks depending upon your driving style and mode.
Apart from these all cons and pros the bike feels alive when you go on a sunny day drive and the bike’s light thump just match your heartbeat and that’s the feel which makes everyone a fan of Royal Enfield. So if you are planning for one then mind these specs and go for the best.
