Review of Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO OverView
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro is inspired by Honda Dream Yuga, clearly, no doubts there. The looks and the technology, both are the same. Not to forget, Dream Yuga took inspiration from Honda CB Twister. So a few features might seem similar to CB Twister as well. The model has been launched with five variations, Disc Self Cast, Drum Self Cast, Drum Self Spoke, Drum Kick Cast, Drum Kick Spoke. If we consider the top end model, it is a commuter segment bike, 110 cc, tagged comfortably so as not to fall hard on pockets. This 109.1 cc engine bike can easily produce a maximum power of 8.7 PS or 6.4 kW at high RPM of 7500, and the highest torque generation calculates to 9.36 Nm at 5500 RPM and can run comfortably at 100-105 as its highest speed, a speed that most commuter bikes do not feel comfortable at, though this one does. Lucky! This is one of the most refined and tuned bike in the recent times. Not meant for speedsters, or sports bikers, but for commuters, this bike has been given the looks that would be immediately loved by the segment it is meant for. Performance of the bike is quite surprising, and to think bikes get better post servicing!
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Designing
One look at Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro and you can immediately call it a child of Honda Dream Yuga. Yes, it is a copy. Since Hero MotoCorp had won the rights to use Honda’s technologies after the break up, the company has quite much based this latest launch on Honda Dream Yuga. Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro has been given quite comfortable dimensions. It measures 2005 mm in length, 765 mm in width and 1115 mm in height, with the fuel tank capacity measuring to 9.5 liters plus 2.1 liters of reserve fuel capacity, wheelbase 1270 mm, ground clearance 175 mm. Overall, quite much like Dream Yuga. The chassis of the bike is made of good quality of plastic, shaped like a tubular diamond, with smooth, smart and charming finishing.
Though quite small in size, the headlights even on low beam are enough powerful, nothing much about the same on high beam, it just is okay. All the lights are multi focal with the head light being multi focal trapezoidal halogen bulb. The exhaust is rather sleek, something that absolutely suits a commuter bike. The seating position that this bike would allow you is the perfectly back-straight position, the handle bars can seem to be placed a bit too high, which might get a bit uncomfortable for those who are short heighted. The saddle has been placed at a height of 785 mm, is long enough, though could have done better with slightly more on cushioning. The foot pegs for both the rider and the pillion have been so placed that none feel uncomfortable. There is enough leg space as per the shape of tank to give breathing space and support to the thighs while riding. What is an absolute winner is the simple digital analog meter console.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Engine And Performance
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro comes with a strong 109.1 cc, single cylinder, four stroke, highly fuel efficient engine. The engine sounds absolutely smooth without any extra vibrations. The maximum power the engine generates is 8.4 kW, or 8.7 PS, at an RPM as high as 7500. Torque peaks at 9.36 Nm at a high RPM of 5500. The bike can be kick started or has self-start option as well. With a 4 speed constant mesh, this bike gets an fully transistorized ignition system. The engine is amazingly smooth and refined, giving quite a chirpy ride. The power and performance of the engine are an absolute delight to be experienced. However, let’s not forget to discuss gears. The bike has been given an all-down gear pattern, which is not what I personally liked, but to think of commuters, it would be a positive thing in the bike. The first gear, which would at the most reach 15 kmph, is mostly useless. Second gear onwards comes helping to a great extent. Shifting to second gear is the judicious thing to give a motion to the bike, while the third gear on, you would start speeding and smiling. When on third gear, you will be somewhere at 45-50 kmph. The bike would take a while to reach the top speed at the fourth gear.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Braking And Handling
Handling and control of Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro is smooth as compared to the total dimension of the bike, it feels too less vibrating, the credit of which goes to the refined engine. It feels totally safe and comfortable to ride, in fact easily one of the safest and most comfortable in this genre. The bike remains absolutely stable even while turning on sharp bends, even with the 18 inch wheels. And this could be the best bike to handle if commuting within a city, which has to have lots of pot holes, traffic and narrow lanes. However, quite mentionable here is also the way it moves on the highways.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Safety Features
Gripping tyres, smart braking, absorbing shockers, comfortable height and weight, altogether make Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro make it one of the safest rides on the road.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Colors
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro has been brought in many different hues. The color options are unlimited. There is one available for everyone, for those who like shining bright, for those who like to remain out of the limelight. A wish for a particular color, and Hero MotoCorp is there to fulfill your wish. Available colors are frosty blue, vibrant blue metallic, black with heavy gray, black combined with sports red, sports red, electric yellow metallic, leaf green metallic, and force silver metallic.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Pros
An out and out commuter segment bike, this is the best that could have been. There is not much to talk about speed, but for sure is highly fuel efficient, would give amazing mileage. The smooth and refined engine is yet another feature that we absolutely loved in Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO Cons
With Hero MotoCorp Passion Xpro being a rather simple bike, there is not much to be disliked here. What can be mentioned as cons are the single seat with low cushions and down gearshifting.
Hero MotoCorp Passion XPRO News Update
Hero MotoCorp has come up with a new smashing bike, Passion XPro. With a slew of bikes launched in this fiscal year, the company is getting past the break-up with Honda now. As announced during the Auto Expo, two of the three bikes, Ignitor and Maestro, have been launched earlier in the year, while the last one to be launched is Passion XPro; the expected deliveries are to start Diwali on, cashing in on the festival season. The company has launched Passion XPro in the commuter segment of bikes, 110 cc. Also, since the company has launched it in commuter segment, care has been taken that it does not fall heavy on budgeted pockets, thus the price range Rs. 51,500 to Rs. 56,900. The variants to be opted from are Drum Kick Spoke, Drum Kick Cast, Drum Self Spoke, Drum Self Cast, and Disc Self Cast.
However, one look at the bike and one gets an instant idea that it is remake of Honda Dream Yuga. And yes, it does have the engine of Yuga and much of its chassis too. This said, all the three Hero MotoCorp launches of this year have been copies of some or other Honda bikes, since Hero possesses the right to use the Honda technologies as a part of the deal signed at the time of famous Honda - Hero break-up . Not to forget, this deal is soon to expire, as per which, Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro is the last bike which shares the technology with Honda.
