Bajaj plans planning a 100cc bike for Indian markets

As we are all aware that Bajaj Auto has returned back to the 100cc segment last July and now this big brand is planning a new 100 cc bike for its Indian users.

The news was disclosed by officials of Bajaj Auto. The 100cc segment in Indian market is certainly going to prove lucrative to the company. The company has to face a big competitor, Hero Honda’s Splendor which is the market leader at present. The company officials claimed that the model will bear all the essential features which are needed to move shoulder to shoulder with the big rival Hero Honda’s Splendor.  

At present Bajaj Auto has only two models in the 100cc segment i.e. Discover and Platina and overall the company has 10 models in its complete portfolio. A new addition in the 100 cc portfolio is going to be a wise decision for the company. But we still cannot ignore the success of Bajaj Discover with a total sale of 1 million bikes in all. This bike is again a model from 100 cc portfolio expected to be coded as Bajaj Boxer.

Though the officials said that the bike is going to be real efficient piece to carry but still exact specifications were totally avoided by them. Hopefully, the company will come out with the official disclosure of the bike specifications soon. The bike is going to be priced below Rs. 40,000.

The bike is expected to hit the markets in the beginning of 2011. with that it is clear that Baja Auto is trying its best to give tough competition to the market leader.

From the last few years, the company has worked hard in changing its image from scooter manufacturer to two wheeler producer and has got huge success. The brand has been existing since a long time in the India markets and now it is all set to add new products to its portfolio.
