Bajaj Auto to Produce 6.3 Million Units

Reports have been flowing recently regarding Bajaj Auto's plan to enhance the manufacturing capacity by more than 25%. The country’s second largest two wheeler manufacturer has right now installed a capacity of 5 million units that includes 4.5 million two wheelers and 0.5 million three wheelers. These stats mean that the number of produced units would not be enough be enough for the next financial year, which is 2013-2014. The target for the company right now to to stretch the production capacity to 6.3 million units which comprises of 5.7 million two wheelers and 0.6 million three wheelers. The move comes with the intentions to meet the increasing demand of their bikes worldwide. So for now, the company target for the number of sales during the financial year 2012-2013 is 5 million.

The MD of Bajaj Auto Ltd., Rajeev Bajaj made an official statement saying that for this year, the company has the capacity to sell 5 million units but investments have been made for the manufacturing plants to increase to increase the productivity to 6.3 million next year. He also said that the company's primary focus is to expand the market globally while "maintaining profitability". The company's three plants that will be implemented in Waluj, Chakan and Pantnagar which will make sure that their productivity is enhanced. Previous year saw the company export 1.27 million units motorcycle across the world. Next few years should see the company increase their productivity by 50% with bikes like Pulsar and Discover.
