Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Water Wading

Ather’s co-founder Swapnil Jain shared a video on his social media, teasing the upcoming Rizta electric scooter. In the video, we can see the electric scooter being ridden through over a foot (400mm) of water, showcasing its excellent water-wading capacity.

The video reveals more details on the scooter’s boxy design. The Rizta gets an apron-mounted LED headlight with integrated indicators, the rectangular shape of which resembles the TVS iQube. It also gets a DRL (daytime running light) on the handlebar cowl. As for the taillights, they are also LED, horizontally mounted and extend towards the side panels.

The digital display, though blurred out, looks very similar to the Ather 450X’ 7-inch TFT console, but will likely have more features from the ‘Ather Stack 6’. It features sleek rear-view mirrors, different from the Ather 450X.

A few seconds into the video, we see the scooter’s side design, which reveals a spacious floorboard with more knee room than any other Ather scooter. The scooter has a sleek single-piece grabrail.

Ather has been testing the Rizta extensively keeping the focus on reliability and Indian riding conditions in mind. Earlier we saw the upcoming Rizta battery being tested by Ather’s engineer in a massive 40-foot drop test. Check out the story here.

Expected to be launched on April 6, 2024, at the Ather Community Day, the Ather Rizta electric scooter is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete against the likes of the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Air and Bajaj Chetak.
