Hero world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer launched the Hunk motorcycle back in 2007 when it still was Hero Honda. This 150ccwas refreshed in 2011 by adding some muscular shaded to it.Coming to the styling of the motorcycle, just look at the bike and you will know that the name Hunk suits the overall design of the bike. Ithas got front fairings at the front of the fuel tank near the thigh rest areas. It also has miniscule additional fairings near the front shocks at the wheel arch location. Overall it gives a masculine appeal and is good for the riders above 6 feet frame. The tail lights look nice with LED lights in it. All back finish has been provided to the engine, and exhaust tail pipe. The rear view mirrors have some solid amount of support material.Earlier the bike used tocome with an analogue speedometer but in 2011 it was changed to digital speedo, but the RPM meter stillcomes as ananalogue unit. The RPM meter sits at the centre and is dominant. The speedometer is kind of tucked away at one corner. It also includes the fuel meter, high beam and turn indicators. Overall, it is quite functional in the appearance with some chrome linings. The Hero Hunk offers a 149.2 cc engine whichproduces outan impressive 14.4 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. Although the power is class leading in the segment with ample of torque at lower revs but the power delivery is not that smooth. Also when riding in the city roads it is not quick and response time is not that quick and you will feel a lag. Apart fromit, gearbox of the bike is another downside of the bike, it is not at all smooth. The shiftingbetween 5-speed gearbox is not that refinedand will take time toget used to.The manufacturer has focused on to make the bike more fuel efficient and though there is lag during the ride but the bike scores in fuel economy, which here in in India is the top priority of the riders. Mileage is claimed by the company to be 55 kmpl. On road, you can expect a decent figure of 50!Talking about the handling of the motorcycle, unfortunately it fails to impress. Althoughthe seating position is quite nice and will not give much of back pain or fatigue during long rides, making it good for long distance touring. The pillion seat is also quite comfortable. To absorb the bumpy road it has been provided with twin GRS (Gas Reservoir) adjustable shocks at the rear and telescopic ones at the front, the suspension fairly do a good job in absorbing the bumpy road. On the downside, the bike is a little to heavy at 146kg and can become a problem to handle on slushy and uneven terrain. With the weight being more, the cornering capability of the bikes drops significantly. The tires also does not help much. Although, the braking performance is decent. The bikecomes with standard 240mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. There is also a rear drum brake version at aslightly cheaper cost.
