Hero Honda Splendor NXG Review
The Hero Honda Splendor NXG Styling bike though looked a little better. Splendor comes in about 5 colors and varying stripe combinations. The wheels are 5-spoked aluminium alloy type, and spoke as well. The headlight is big and stylish trapezoidal multireflector type that gives bright light at low speeds as well, because of powerful battery and this gives the direct current high beam that is not dependent on the rpm of the engine.
The taillight is big and improved by looks as compared to old splendor. Although, Splendor NXG looks much similar to its base version, the improved side decals, rear and front cowl and new sleek instrument panel with a trip meter and the fuel tank (capacity of about 10.3 liters) that has a knee grip mold and new and improved visor give the bike more stylish looks. New fairing and visor combo, Powerful & stylish trapezoidal mutlireflector headlight. New design fuel tank with knee grip, new body panels and sleek body graphics, large & stylish tail light, attractive aluminum die cast rear grip, chrome fuel tank lid, five-spoked aluminium-alloy wheels in the top-end variant of the NXG. It features trapezoidal multi -reflector headlamps which is powerful even at low speeds.
This is achieved by powerful battery which powers the DC high beam in the headlamp and its strength is not dependent on the engine rpm. Circuitry for the low beam and pilot lamp has also been enhanced for low variation in intensity arising from changes in the engine rpm. The bike gives comfort upright and comfortable riding posture. The easy riding can be enjoyed by both for the rider and those on the pillion. Telescopic fork type hydraulic front suspension.
The company claimed that the NXG new engine of 97.2cc. Better power & torque at lower engine RPM for comfortable city riding, that is marginally improved over the Splendor Plus. The motor looks like it’s the same one as that in the CD Dawn version. The bike does sound nice and does not noise out too much as well even on a long drive. The low end torque of the engine to give a no-noise drive even at 20 kmph in the fourth gear; and guess that sets Hero Honda apart from other bike manufacturers.
The Splendor NXG has a smooth gearshift complying with the industry standards. The bike has internal expanding shoe type brakes and kick start options. The maximum achievable speed is about 90 kmph and the mileage is about 77 for city and highway combined. Optimum gear ratios for better pickup, mutlireflector headlight that provides better visibility even at lower speeds. The fuel switch is easier to operate than usual switches with thin levers.
The overall height, length and width of Hero Honda Spledor NXG are 1095mm, 1985mm, 720mm respectively. It has a wheel base of 1230mm and kerb weight is 107kgs. It has a ground clearance of 160mm.
Hero Honda Splendor NXG comes with aircooled single cylinder 4 stroke OHC engine with displacement of 97.2 CC. The engine has a support for single cylinder. Splendor NXG develops 5.67KW of peak power at 7500 rpm and generates a torque of 7.7Nm@6000rpm. The electrical specification of the bike is 12 volts. The Hero Honda Splendor NXG is started by kick start. It has 4-speed constant mesh type transmission. The front suspensions in Hero Honda Splendor NXG include telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and the rear suspension includes swing arm with hydraulic shock absorbers.
The NXG takes only 8.6 seconds to 0-60kmph acceleration. Whereas 0-400m acceleration is achieved in 22.9 seconds. The stylish bike's top speed is 90.1kmph. Braking 60 kmph (meters) 23.5.
The Hero Honda Splendor NXG scores just as high as any of its rivals. Tackling the stop-and-go riding nature of crowded city traffic, including idling at traffic lights, the machine delivered 77 kilo metres per litre - so any worse than this will be close to impossible in regular use. On open highways, the mileage went up considerably. The maximum capacity of fuel tank is 10.3 litres and 1.8 litres reserve.
It has a stunning looks, economic performance.
A number of techniques are missing like no Tachometer, Electric Start no digital speedometer, Odometer etc.
