3rd April, 2015: The iconic British motorcycle maker - Triumph offers its legendary 865cc bike in the country christened as Triumph Bonneville. It is built on a classic bike platform and houses a 865cc, parallel twin, air-cooled engine that develops 59.9bhp of power. The bike was introduced in 1959 and has under gone through many cosmetic as well as mechanical changes since then. Along with the standard model, the manufacturer sells its another variant, Triumph Bonneville T100 that comes with some additional accessories. The bikes are priced at Rs. 5.99 for Triumph Bonneville and Rs. 6.97 lacs for Triumph Bonneville T100 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).

Triumph Bonneville is a 865cc classic bike that comes with a unique body styling and promises butter smooth performance. The bike made its entry to the Indian shores back in 2013. It is available across the dealerships in three colours: Lunar Silver, Phantom Black and a dual tone of sapphire blue with crystal White.
Triumph Bonneville is powered by a 865cc, parallel twin, fuel injected engine that comes mated to a five-speed transmission system. The mill generates a peak power of 59.9bhp at 7,500rpm with a maximum torque of 61.1Nm at 5,551rpm.
Triumph Bonneville is crafted on a tubular steel cradle frame and is mounted with Kayaba 41mm forks at the front and and Kayaba chromed spring twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload at the rear. The bike runs on 110/70 front and 130/80 rear tyres that are mounted on 17” stylish alloy wheels. However, Triumph Bonneville T100 is fitted with 36-spoke and 40-spoke wheels at the front and rear respectively. The braking action of the bike is handled by 310mm disc brake with Nissin twin piston calliper at the front and 255mm disc brake with Nissin twin piston calliper at the rear.
Coming to the body design, Triumph Bonneville is crafted like a true classic machine. The front fascia has a round headlamp section. The bike has chromed rear view mirrors and a conventional rear fender that deliver it a pure classic appearance. It measures 2,115mm x 790mm x 1,130mm (LxWxH) with a wheelbase of 1,490mm. The machine has a minimum ground clearance of 140mm and its seat is mounted at a height of 740mm. The instrument console goes traditional with an analogue speedometer, analogue tachometer, twin tripmeters, fuel gauge and a clock.
However, its extravagant variant, Triumph Bonneville T100 comes with some additional benefits like a twin peashooter exhaust, chrome engine covers, black instrument cluster, Triumph logo on the seat, dual tone colour scheme and front fork gaiters.

I am eagerly waiting for the clash between two big International brands in two wheeler segments, Triumph Bike Company and Harley Davidson. I love high efficiency bikes and I am crazier about the Triumph Bikes India. One of my friend lives in USA and he had taken the ride of the Triumph Bonneville bike and he was very happy with the test drive of the bike. Even I am willing to ride it whereas I know that bike is not in my budget but one who sees dreams, can produce it in the reality.
