Hero HF Deluxe Review - The most affordable commuter motorcycle
The Hero HF Deluxe is a popular commuter motorcycle with a price in India starting from RS 59,477 (ex-showroom price), with insurance charges and RTO and other fees extra. The HF Deluxe key highlights include an engine and key underpinnings shared with the Hero Splendor Plus. The bike retains all the virtues of the Splendor Plus, but offers them with a slightly different design.

Hero HF Deluxe Design
- The Hero HF Deluxe, with its neutral design, looks quite good and appeals to a large number of buyers with varying needs
- The bike has a sculpted fuel tank that is very easy to grab onto when riding the bike
-
The graphics on the body panels add quite a modern touch to the bike
-
HF Deluxe I3S Cast, Kick Cast and HF Deluxe Self Cast come with common colour scheme: Sports Red Black, Black Nexus Blue, Candy Blazing Red and Black Grey Stripe. Only the HF Deluxe All Black variant comes in a single colour that is, of course, black.
-
The bike’s tail lamp is curved and fits nicely without any major parts sticking out.
-
The bike’s mirrors are large enough and provide enough view of the road for a safer ride

Hero HF Deluxe Safety Features & Convenience
- The bike gets an analogue instrument console that is easy to read and displays enough information
- There's no USB charger or Bluetooth connectivity, as they are reserved for the HF Deluxe Pro model.
- The bike also gets a side-stand cutoff and an engine immobilizer that cuts off the engine after a fall or a crash, as a safety feature
- The bike comes with alloy wheels and also has an idle start-stop system for mileage that cuts off the engine after idling for a while in traffic, and starts it again at the pull of a clutch
- The bike also comes with Hero's integrated braking system (Hero's term for Combined Braking System) that distributes some of the braking force to the front when the rear brake is applied, like all its motorcycles in the segment.

Hero HF Deluxe Comfort & Storage
- The bike has an accessible seat height of 805mm and will allow most of the everyday riders to put down their feet comfortably
- The bike's seat is 735mm long and can comfortably accommodate a wide range of riders, giving an upright riding posture
- The upright riding posture with centre-set footpegs, raised handlebars and good knee room is good for short rides
- The seat cushion is quite firm and feels comfortable in the city traffic
- For long rides, the seat does feel quite inadequate, as it is sleek and can't support your weight fully
- The pillion seat too is comfortable enough and can handle normal riding in the city with ease, but lacks the comfort necessary for highway rides
Hero HF Deluxe Engine Performance & Mileage

Engine |
Power |

Transmission |
|
97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled |
8.02PS |

4-speed |
- The Hero HF Deluxe's single-cylinder engine is quite tractable and has enough low-end torque for city commutes
- The bike is easy to ride around in the city, even in a higher gear, and won't stall easily
- The engine is quite refined, and you will feel the vibrations only when riding hard or at highway speeds above 70kmph
- The bike can cruise all day at 70kmph quite comfortably. As for the fuel economy, it offers an average mileage of 70kmpl (claimed), ensuring fewer fuel stops. That said, the actual mileage may vary.
- That said, the bike is capable of reaching speeds above 80kmph, but the engine starts to feel strained, and the experience is not pleasant.
- With high fuel efficiency, this bike does city commuting quite easily

Hero HF Deluxe Handling & Ride Quality
- With the low kerb weight, the bike is very agile and easy to ride around in the city and doesn't pose a challenge, even to newer riders.
- The bike's suspension setup, which is tuned for Indian road conditions, performs exceptionally well and absorbs most bumps, making everyday riding easy.
- Even with added weight or a pillion, the suspension becomes even more pliant.
- The 130mm drum brake units at both ends have enough bite to stop the bike in city commutes and ensure rider safety
- That said, even a disc brake with single-channel ABS would be a great addition.

Is the Hero HF Deluxe Right for You?
- If you are looking to buy a no-nonsense commuter motorcycle that's reliable, with affordable long-term ownership, and offers excellent mileage, the HF Deluxe is a practical choice.
- The Hero HF Deluxe ticks all the boxes of a good commuter motorcycle and also comes at an affordable price tag.
- The bike, for its price, offers enormous value for your money, and with Hero MotoCorp's extensive service network, it comes with immense peace of mind.

- City ride with Hf deluxeI chose the HF Deluxe because it is known for reliability, low maintenance cost, and excellent fuel efficiency, which suits daily commuting needs. Being a product from Hero MotoCorp, it also gives confidence in terms of service network and resale value. The ride so far has been quite smooth and comfortable for city use. The seat is well cushioned and the suspension handles rough roads decently. Mileage is a strong point easily giving around 65 to 70 km per litre which makes it very economical. The bike is lightweight so handling is easy especially in traffic, However speed and power are limited it is not built for aggressive riding On highways it performs okay at moderate speeds 50 to 70 km per hour but feels slightly underpowered if you try to push beyond that. Yes I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone looking for a budget friendly low maintenance daily commuter especially for city rides rather than long highway touring and for office use daily updowRead More8 9
