TVS to launch two new models in India

The third largest two-wheeler maker, TVS Motor Company Limited, is mulling over to introduce two models in the two-wheeler market by end of FY 2009-10. Out of these two models, one will be a 125cc bike and second a gearless scooter. Senior manager (corporate communication), TVS Motor Company, Adrian Dass said that the company is planning to launch these models. The yet-to-be launched scooter will a unique product in the scooter market. He confirmed this news on the occasions of re-launch of TVS Flame SR 125. However, he did not provide detailed information. He told that TVS intends to sell around 12,000 to 14,000 units of two-wheelers in the festival season in India. It aims to sell around 600 units of TVS Flame SR 125 in the period. Popular two-wheelers of TVS are- TVS Flame SR 125, TVS Apache and TVS Scooty. However, Kawasaki Ninja 250 R, Yamaha VMAX, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PGM FI, Mahindra Duro and Mahindra Rodeo are stiff contenders in the market.
