Royal Enfield aiming at 50K units sale in 2009

Royal Enfield is ready to take competition head-on. Royal Enfield, which has launched it's Bullet variant Classic 500, has projected 50K sales of motorcycles in 2009, and has shown a steady growth of 15 percent rise since few years. Shaji Koshy, head of sales and marketing of the company, told that the company aims to touch 1 lakh bikes by 2013. Koshy also said, "the sales are growing in the metros with more people with disposable incomes, particularly from the IT sector, keen on riding Bullet for long drives." Shaji Koshy said the manufacturing facility in Chennai is equipped to raise the production capacity as the demand rises. Honda Unicorn and Honda Activa bikes have been launched in India.
