The 109.7cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, OHC petrol mill that sits under its hood holds the potential of pumping out a peak 8bhp at 7500rpm along with a top 8Nm of torque at 5500rpm. These impressive power and torque figures, being just as good as those offered by the country's favourite, Honda Activa, form a pretty strong point for the Wego. However, the best quality of its power-mill is not displayed until it is taken for a spin.

Tuned to the finest level possible, there is hardly any other engine in the market today that can parallel the refinement that the makers of Wego have succeeded in achieving. With friction and noise cut down to unbelievably low levels, TVS Wego gives the smooth and subtle impression of an electric scooter on the move. To accompany this brilliantly-engineered motor, a V-matic transmission gearbox and a self-cum-kick-start ignition system have also been employed by the Chennai-based automaker.

Despite employing a set of Drum brakes, measuring 130mm in diameter both for the front as well as the rear end, TVS Wego offers a strong and accurate braking action, thereby, instigating complete confidence in the driver to tackle even the worst kinds of traffic and road conditions with absolute ease. What helps this braking system in its operation are the 12-inch 90/90 alloy wheels, which provide a good and firm road grip.

As for the suspension, the unit swing with spring loaded hydraulic damper that works for the rear wheel irons out every bump and jerk very effectively, not allowing any pothole to ruin the comfort of the pillion rider. It is the front-mounted in-line telescopic suspension that needs to be upgraded as it does not prove that effective in absorbing the jolts during the ride and transfers them to the handlebars, causing inconvenience to the driver. Other than that, there are no major issues regarding the handling of the Wego as it feels agile, turns effortlessly and provides an extremely risk-free ride thanks to its innovative body-balance technology.

Besides an efficient braking system and a set of 20% larger wheels, which provide considerably high levels of safety, TVS Wego also features ergonomically shaped grab rails at the rear end for the convenience of the pillion rider. Apart from that, the scooter also houses a 12V battery to power the 12V LED tail-lights with optical guide and the 12V 35W halogen headlamps for uniform illumination during night time drives.
