Mahindra to Bring Higher Capacity Bikes and Scooters

To remain strong in the two-wheeler market, Mahindra has been trying hard since day one. Now the company is trying their hands in higher capacity bikes to boost its brand image. Following the same, Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited (MTWL) is all set to launch its 300cc Mojo soon.

Earlier we reported that the MTWL has acquired Kinetic group with the aim to enter mid-sized sports bikes. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has been looking to come up with various products, but it hasn’t been able to crack the market. Recently, the company has also taken over the Peugeot Motorcycles and soon it may explore the new market with the French brand. Due to the constant rise in the sales of scooters in India, the company may launch Peugeot scooters sometime next year.

In order to get Peugeot scooters India, Mahindra has a big task to do. Comparatively, European Scooters are much costlier and are required to localised heavily to taste wanted success. Thus the company is trying hard to keep the price down, otherwise, it may end up selling few numbers, which doesn’t make any commercial sense. The company is planning to launch higher capacity scooters and bikes to attract sports enthusiast.

Mahindra will get the high capacity scooter from Peugeot as they have few options, but they will make the bikes in house only. The company’s first step to the higher capacity bikes will be Mahindra Mojo, which will become a flagship and it is expected to be a brand builder. The company is aiming to sell 30,000 units a month, which it feels the Centuro and Gusto can help to achieve. Also, the company is looking to launch its first 160cc motorcycle next.
