Bajaj Auto has confirmed to launch its fastest Pulsar yet, Pulsar RS200 on 26th March, and it seems that the next launch could be the adventure sport version. The company has started producing Pulsar 200AS with the RS200, and both of the models will be sharing most of the technical specifications. With these new models, Bajaj will be offering 200cc bikes in three different segments- Naked Sport (200NS), Race Sport and Adventure Sport.

All the 200cc Pulsar models are powered by the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with triple-spark technology. The motor makes 23.2bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 18.3Nm using a carburetor type fuel system. However, in the FI version of Pulsar RS200 it makes upto 24.1bhp of power at 9,500rpm and delivers torque upto 18.6Nm at 8,500rpm.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 looks much different than the 200NS and 200AS models, where the later two share most of the styling apart the front fairing and headlight. The RS200 has a supersport type styling with full body fairing, which has been designed in a very aggressive manner with twin projector headlamps. It also gets totally new rear and side panels along with redesigned seat, a unique tail lamp and sporty side-slung type muffler.

Apart from sharing all the body work with the existing Pulsar 200NS, the 200AS model also gets a semi fairing to enhance the aerodynamics. The bike also has an improved headlight assembly with a projector lamp and an adequate fly-screen for better wind protection. All the three models are based on one platform, which features pressed steel perimeter frame, 37mm front telescopic forks, Nitrox mono-shock at the rear, 10-spoke/17” alloys, 100/80 section front and 130/70 section rear tubeless tyres and dual disc brakes. The RS200 will also get ABS assistance, which will be offered as option.
