The Tecpac sub-variant will get a TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and other exclusive features over the Standard version

Bajaj has teased the upcoming Premium variant of the Chetak ahead of its launch on January 5. But in even bigger news, prices and other details of the electric scooter have been leaked. The Bajaj Chetak Premium variant will be available in two sub-variants: Standard and Tecpac and the Standard will reportedly be priced at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom Tamil Nadu), with the Tecpac commanding a premium of about Rs 8,000.

From the teaser, we can see that the upcoming Chetak gets blacked-out grab rail and alloy wheels. But the biggest talking point is that the electric scooter will get a 5-inch TFT instrument console. The Tecpac sub-variant will get turn-by-turn navigation, available via the Chetak app. After connecting the smartphone with the scooter, navigation details will have to be entered in the app and then directions will be displayed on the TFT screen. On the other hand, the Standard sub-variant will get a black and white TFT instrument console.

The Standard sub-variant will get a single ECO ride mode while the Tecpac sub-variant will get an additional Sport mode. Other exclusive features of the Tecpac sub-variant include hill hold, sequential blinkers, tyre pressure monitoring system, music control, notification alert and different themes for the display. Both the sub-variants get a display indicated top speed of 80kmph. The leaked images also show the claimed range of the Premium variant to be 126km, which is the same as the range mentioned in a couple of homologation documents that surfaced online about a month ago. As such, the upcoming Premium variant should get a 3.2kWh capacity battery pack, basis information on the homologation document.

The upcoming Bajaj Chetak Premium variant is the top-end variant of the Chetak lineup and after its launch, will compete with the likes of the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, Simple One and the Ather 450X.
