S 1000 RR (2013-2018) Expert Review
The bike has been featured in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation trailer. It is one of the machines which stands among the top supersport motorcycles across the world because of its commendable build quality, power and aesthetics. It has been a sale in India from the last year and has been giving a tough competition to other leading players of this segment such as Yamaha YZF-R1 and Suzuki GSX-1000RR.
BMW S1000RR is propelled by a 999cc, in-line four cylinders, a liquid-cooled engine which comes mated to a six-speed transmission system. The powerful mill pumps out a peak power of 195.2 bhp at 13500 rpm along with a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 10500 rpm. It comes equipped with the electronically fuel injected engine that let it go from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.10 seconds and pushes it to a maximum speed of 299 kmph. The manufacturer bolted it on an aluminium composite bridge frame and it runs on 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR 17 rear tyres. Besides this, the fierce stopping power is provided by 320mm dual discs with four piston calliper at the front and 265mm single disc with a twin-piston calliper at the rear. The brakes are integrated with a disengage-able BMW Motorrad Race Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) for better safety.
The company blessed it with a unique twin headlight structure that make it look stunning and engaging. The fuel tank of the bike is neatly designed to perfection which make it look even more hostile and offering a good and comfortable riding posture to the rider. The front fairing of the machine dressed up in a proper Supersports uniform. The motorcycle has been configured with a sporty step-up seat that comes well-padded and provides an excellent comfort level to the rider as well as pillion. The rear section of the bike consists of a triangular tail lamp with clear lens turning indicators. The bike sports two into one exhaust system that looks magnificent. The company offers it with three different riding modes,i.e., Rain, Race and Sport. A shift assistant pro is also equipped in the bike that enables quick and easy gear shifting without the involvement of clutch.
