27th February, 2015: Ducati Monster series is one of the most aggressive naked sports motorcycles, which is now available in the Indian two-wheeler market. The range is having 10 bikes ranging from 795cc to 1200cc. These are christened as S2R, 795 ABS, 795, 796 Corse Stripe, 821 Dark, 821, 821 Stripe, 1200, 1200 S and 1200 S Stripe. The wide range of bikes offered by the Italian motorcycle giant has truly revamped the Indian high-end bike segment.

Ducati monster line-up is undoubtedly one of the best naked bike series available in India so far. Being the most powerful and expensive bike, Ducati 1200 S Stripe is powered by a 1198.4cc, Testastretta 11° L-twin cylinder, four-stroke engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It churns out a peak power of 145bhp at 8,750rpm with a maximum torque of 124.5Nm at 7,250rpm. An electronic fuel injection system with 53mm throttle body ensures crisp throttle response and uninterrupted power delivery. The performance package that comes as standard with the bike adds 10bhp of power and 10Nm of torque to the output of motor.
Ducati 1200 S Stripe rests on a tubular steel trellis frame and runs on 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR17 rear tyres. The suspension kit of the bike includes Ohlins fully adjustable 48mm upside-down front forks and progressive linkage with fully adjustable rear monoshock. The tyres are equipped to 330mm dual semi-floating disc brakes with 4-piston calliper at the front and 245mm disc with twin-piston calliper at the rear. The braking is made more responsive with the addition of Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). Ducati 1200 S Stripe has an adjustable seat, whose height can vary from 785mm to 810mm. In addition, split seat is fitted on the bike, which gives it a sporty look. Ducati 1200 S Stripe also features DTC (Ducati Traction Control System) comprising of eight different profiles.
The front fascia of Ducati 1200 S Stripe looks dominating by a round shaped headlight integrated with LED position lamps. The combination of a traditional headlamp along with colored front forks makes it look more robust. The instrument panel goes fully digital with three different modes: Core view for urban riding, Full view for Touring and Track view for sports riding. The cluster includes digital speedometer, tachometer, twin tripmeters, low fuel indicator, low oil indicator and selected riding mode with several other information. The bike also features a low mounted number plate, which gets illuminated by LEDs that makes it look more pleasing. The bike is secured with an Anti-Theft system as well.

Because I love the sportier bike and I am a good rider also and now I am making my mind set that I will wait for the launch of the Ducati Monster in India. Monster having the variants like Monster 795 bike has the engine of L-Twin cylinder, 2 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, air cooled with the displacement of 803cc which will give the power of 64kW - 87 CV @ 8250 rpm.
