Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, registered a 32 percent increase in their June 2015 sales figures as compared to June 2014. Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL, said “Several factors have come together to propel us onto a consistent growth  path, complimented by a more-than 30% increase in sales in the last month itself. Part of the increased demand from customers is because of Suzuki’s various marketing efforts and partly due to the perceived upswing in consumer mood. Aggressive marketing initiatives for Suzuki Gixxer has generated a lot of excitement and interest in Suzuki’s flagship product. In general, the economy tends to show signs of picking up after a better- than-expected monsoon, which always has a positive influence on the auto sector”.

The biggest contributor to the sales of SMIPL is the 125cc scooter segment (Suzuki Access and Swish) followed by their latest premium 150cc bike (Gixxer). Although, the company lost some market share due to the entry of a new 125cc model- Honda Activa 125, Gixxer occupied a decent part of the premium 150cc segment. Now, the company has also launched a full faired version of the bike- Gixxer SF, which looks very promising. These new products will definitely help the company to continue its growth path.
