KTM to launch RC390 by the third quarter of this year

KTM seems to be ready to launch its entry level track machine- RC390 in India by the Q3 as it was announced earlier that the bike will be launched within this year. The latest pictures of the test mule roaming in the city area without any camouflage also hints that the bike might come in the market in the next few months.

Basically, KTM RC 390 is a faired version of the KTM Duke 390, which is already available in the Indian market. The bike gets a full fairing with twin projector headlamps and DRL on the Duke 390's platform. The bike has a masculine fuel tank with sporty split seat and clip-on handlebars, providing a perfect lean forward riding posture. It also gets new LED tail lamp inspired from the RC 8R just like the fairing of the new machine.

KTM RC 390 features the same 373.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine powering the Duke 390. The engine comes equipped with the latest technologies like 4-valve and electronic fuel injection system. The advance mill churns out 43bhp of maximum power along with a peak torque of 35Nm.

The bike will come fitted with inverted telescopic forks at the front, while the rear gets adjustable mono-shock suspension with aluminium swing-arm. Both the front and rear disc brakes will be assisted by ABS system for imroved braking and enhanced safety. RC 390 is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.3 lakh in India. It will compete for the likes of Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Hyosung GT250R, while the upcoming rivals of this bike will be Hero HX250R and Yamaha YZF-R25.
