HMSI registers 8 percent growth in June 2015

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), the second largest two wheeler manufacturer in India, registered an overall (Domestic + Export) sales growth of 8 percent in the month of June 2015. The company sold sold 3,48,793 units in June 2015 against 3,23,136 units in the corresponding month of 2014.

Domestic sales of HMSI reached 3,31,782 units, registering a 7 percent growth in June 2015. Also, the Q1, FY’15-16 was closed with 6% growth in sales Y-o-Y for both Domestic and Overall. Honda 2-wheeler exports grew by 23.6 percent, from 13,762 units to 17,011 units in June 2015

The company continued to witness encouraging response with 27 percent rise in scooter sales to 2,19,650 units in June 2015 versus 1,66,592 units in June 2014. However, motrocycle sales seen a decline of 21.47 percent with sales stood at 1,12,132 units in June 2015 to 1,42,782 units last year 2014.

In the month of June 2015 Honda grew at 7 percent in Domestic market which is more than double the domestic industry growth of 3 percent. Also, Honda added a phenomenal 60,677 units in Q1 gaining 2 percent market share, while domestic 2-wheeler industry declined by 1,337 units.
