The sporty version of India’s most selling motorcycle- Hero MotoCorp Splendor NXG is missing from product portfolio on HMCL’s official website. It seems that the new Splendor iSmart, which is an advanced model based on the similar platform has taken the place of the NXG version as well.

Hero MotoCorp is also working on some new models and expected to launch them this year, which also includes one or more commuters. This one can also be a reason to discontinue the Hero Splendor NXG. The closest model to the discontinued bike in the current product line-up is the Splendor iSmart, which shares almost every dimension and the engine which is 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. However, the new one is a little wider due to the handlebar end weights. The new technology and cosmetic updates also adds 2 kg extra weight to the new machine.

Performance of the new Splendor iSmart is also similar to the NXG version as it delivers 7.7bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.04Nm at 4,500rpm. The motor has been equipped with a new i3S technology, which is an idle Stop Start system, developed to save the fuel consumed during idling. It gets all the features of the top variant of the Splendor NXG and costs just Rs. 1,000 extra with a price tag of Rs. 47,250 (ex-showroom Delhi).
