GoPro HERO 4 revealed before official release expected by mid-October

The upcoming GoPro HERO 4, which is expected to release officially by mid-October has been revealed by a website. The successor of the HERO 3 will get two major upgraded features that include 4K video recording at 30FPS and a built in touch screen display and these will not be available in a single model. It will be available in two different models- HERO 4 Black and HERO 4 Silver, and each will get one of the major features mentioned above.

The GoPro HERO 4 Black has been developed to deliver higher performance than the current version. It will be the most advanced version of the product till now, which will improve your experience with increased picture quality and 2x powerful processor. To provide a high quality video footage, the HERO 4 is capable to capture it at 4K resolution at 30FPS, and you can also capture 12MP still images with the similar frame rate.

Other frame rates for different resolutions will be- 2.7K at 50fps, 1440p at 80fps, 1080p at 120fps, 960p at 120fps, and 720p at 120fps. The company has also improved the audio capturing with double dynamic range. It also gets an ultra-wide angle lens at the front, providing 3 different field-of-view settings- Narrow, Medium and Ultra Wide. HERO 4 will also get new manual settings and controls including colours, exposure, ISO limit and more for both the photography and videography.

Contrarily, GoPro HERO 4 Silver misses the 4K recording feature, however, it comes with a convenient touch screen display at the back side. It can be used to control the camera and frame shots as well as to review the captured content using on-screen touch options. The frame rates provided in the Silver version are- 4K at 15fps, 2.7K at 30fps, 1440p at 48fps, 1080p at 60fps, 960p at 100fps, and 720p at 120fps, however, the 12MP still photography can be captured at 30FPS.

Other features of the GoPro HERO 4 like 131 feet (40m) waterproofing, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, exposure settings for nighttime shooting, a QuikCapture feature for powering up and recording with one button press, a “HiLight Tag” feature for marking key moments in footage, and auto low light features will be almost similar in both the Black and Silver versions.

Furthermore, expected accessories with HERO 4 include a blackout housing that gives your camera a matte black finish for stealthy and low-glare shooting, a dual battery charger for juicing two packs simultaneously, a wearable waterproof remote, a removable battery pack that gives your GoPro more juice and a grip that keeps your camera afloat.

Pricing of the GoPro HERO 4 will be announced at the official releasing, which is expected to happen by the mid-October.
