Honda has started taking bookings for its upcoming middleweight sportbike Honda CBR 650F, which brings a big smile on the face of those who were eagerly waiting for its launch. The moment is about to come and the bike is scheduled to launch in style on the coming August 4, 2015 in New Delhi. The bike has already created a huge amount of hype much before its launch and it seems a delighting cupcake for the Indian market. The motorcycle will live up to the expectations of the automotive nerds here or not, that we can only say post launch. Meanwhile, we bring you the top five things that you need to know about this Japanese beauty in case you want to admire it even more.

1. Buttery Smooth 649cc, Inline-Four Motor: Honda CBR 650F gets alive by a refined 649cc, liquid cooled, inline four-cylinder, DOHC motor that comes mated to a six-speed transmission setup. The motor churns out a net power of 85.8bhp at 11,000rpm along with a maximum torque of 63Nm at 8,000rpm. The Programmed Fuel Injection System (PGM-Fi) ensures a crisp throttle response with an uninterrupted power delivery.

2. Sound Braking System: For a proper high-performance bike, it is necessary to possess a high-performance braking kit too. The CBR 650F has been assisted with 320mm dual disc brakes with twin piston callipers up front and 240mm hydraulic disc brake with single piston calliper at the rear. Furthermore, the incorporation of a standard fit two-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking) unit enhances the responsiveness and precision of braking even under strict conditions. What’s more! The stability level gets improved drastically and the rider need not worry about losing grip or hold of the bike.

3. Body Aesthetics and Styling: The bike scores well on the grounds of visuals and aesthetics values. Honda CBR 650F gets a fully faired front with a sharp single headlamp section. The aggressively growing body profile gives a tough and highly enchanting character to the bike. The four-into-one exhaust setup produces a melodious grunt and looks stunning as well. The muscular fuel tank and a higher stance give a good road presence to the machine. The fat tyres do their part well in offering a superior grip and increasing the appeal.

4. Honda Ignition Security System (H.I.S.S.): Like most of the high-end Honda two-wheelers, the 650F also receives the HISS security setup. The main functioning depends upon the bike’s original key only as the two-wheeler comes with a properly coded key in such a way that until and unless the genuine one is not inserted into the keyhole, the bike remains unarmed. The feature was firstly implemented back in 2000 in the CBR 900 RR Fire Blade and CB 1100 X Eleven.

5. Locally Assembled: Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) announced last year in October that it will be assembling the CBR 650F in India only, which hints that it will bring down its price in comparison to its competitors that are being marketed via the CBU route. However, the exact price will be revealed only after the launch and we are expecting the bike to sport a price tag of somewhere between Rs. 6 lac to Rs. 8 lac.

Just like you, we are also equally excited and looking forward to the roll out. The wait for all those who were waiting to get their hands on the bike is finally getting over and those who wish to park this exotic machine in their garage should rush to the nearest Honda dealership and book it by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000.

Stay tuned for more updates on the launch event and to know at what price does Honda CBR 650F gets released for the Indian buyers.
