Dear friends, I have purchased Yamaha ray on 21 April 2013 from Chennai. My desire was to buy a reliable, easy to handle, economical and good looking scooter that would help my wife. After a lot of research, comparison and test drives, we had short listed TVS Scooty, Honda Activa, TVS Wego, Mahindra scooters. and after we decided to bought Yamaha Ray. We liked the colours available and went with Blue. It looked very nice and my wife was happy. I decided to bought this bike. But everything went wrong. As my wife uses this scooter 25-30 kms daily. Yamaha scooter delivers mileage of 40 kmpl. The engine pick up is also low when pillion is there. We are not satisfied with its engine performance. The handle of this scooter shakes when it crosses 40 kmph speed. And company claimed that mileage will improve after first service. But after crossing over 2, 000km when there was no improvement, I demanded a mileage test and they had to accept that there was a defect in the vehicle.
This is the first time we tried a Yamaha. I will probably never buy another Yamaha. And needless to say, I would not recommend anyone to buy this scooter.
