The FZ1 was born for life on the street and its muscular frame is ready for anything. Its 998cc Supersport-based engine packs a mighty midrange punch. ECU mapping has been revised to achieve improved throttle response in the low to mid-rpm range.

The die-cast aluminium frame cuts its way through the curves like a supersport bike, to ensure that you're always in charge.

The FZ1 has got heart-pumping performance, with serious attitude on top and a lean and mean look that's all about raw power. The FZ1 is equipped with an under cowling.The FZ1 is powered by inline-four 998cc liquid cooled engine borrowed from the previous generation YZF-R1. This engine churns out 150bhp at 11,500rpm and maximum torque of 106Nm at 8,000rpm.This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with one-down and five-shifting up gearbox. Yamaha FZ1 features an alloy twin-spark frame and swingarm, plus top-drawer fully adjustable suspension at both ends. It gets upside-down forks in front, a monoshock at the rear and sticky tyres at both ends, with a 190/50 x 17-incher at the rear.

The Yamaha FZ-1 is sold in India with two colour-options- white and black. It competes with the meaner Kawasaki Z1000 and the Triumph Speed Triple.
