Yamaha has launched the YZF-R2 in India

It is offered in three variants: base R2, R2 quick Shifter (QS) and R2M

Base variant costs Rs 2,30,500, Quick Shifter costs Rs 2,39,500, & M is priced at Rs 2,53,000 (all ex-showroom, Delhi)

The base variant comes in Metallic Blue & Dark Bluish Gray, QS variant gets Matte White Pearl & Racing Blue, and M gets Metallic Gray

It is powered by an all-new 204cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired with 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch

It makes 26.5 PS at 10,000 rpm and 19.1 Nm at 8,000 rpm, which is 8.1 PS and 4.9 Nm more than the R15 V4

Suspension duties are handled by an inverted fork and a monoshock, which are preload adjustable in the M variant

It weighs just 149 kg kerb due to the steel tube diamond frame

It features a 5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, which enables navigation and mobile alerts, and three riding modes: Street, Rain and Sport

For safety it gets dual-channel ABS and traction control as standard

The M variant gets premium elements like adjustable brake and clutch levers, a silver swingarm and faux suede-finished seat

The QS variant and M variant get a bi-directional quick shifter

It rivals bikes like the KTM RC 200, Hero Karizma XMR 210, and Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF
