Simple Energy has launched the Simple One Gen 2 range of e-scooters in India with a whole bunch of meaningful updates

The Gen 2 range includes two models: Simple OneS and Simple One Gen 2. The latter has two variants: 4.5kWh and 5kWh battery pack options
The Simple OneS is priced at Rs 1,39,999. Note that this is introductory. Otherwise it costs Rs 1,49,999. It gets a 3.7kWh battery pack.
The Simple One 4.5kWh & 5kWh battery pack variants cost Rs 1,69,999 and Rs 1,77,999 respectively (all prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
Claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range for the OneS is 190km, the One with 4.5kWh battery pack is 236km, and the One with 5kWh battery is 265km
The Simple One range is available in five single-tone and four dual-tone shades
The Grace White, Aero Grey, Brazen Black, Azure Blue, Sonic Red are single-tone, whereas Light X, Aero X, Brazen X, Asphalt X are dual-tone colours
The Gen 2 range scooters use a 6.4kW permanent magnet motor in the base Simple One and Simple OneS. The top-end Simple One has the motor tuned to make 8.8kW (all peak figures)
Torque figures: 52Nm (base Simple OneS, & Simple One Gen 2 4.5kWh variant). Simple One Gen 2 top-end 5kWh variant: 72Nm
The scooters also get a 7-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity for Google Maps navigation, new OS with lots of information & even smartwatch connectivity
The e-scooter’s riding aids include a four-level traction control system, a four-level regenerative braking, and six riding modes: Eco X, Eco, Ride, Air, Sonic, Sonic X
Other features include hill hold control, cruise control, fall detection, park mode, limp home mode, speed limiter, crawl mode, panic brake alert, & follow-me-home lights
