The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 has been launched at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).

The bike shares the same design language as the Himalayan 411 but gets some important upgrades.
The old 411 used to get a 411 cc air-oil-cooled engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The new Himalayan 440 gets a 440 cc air-oil-cooled engine with a 6-speed gearbox
The 411 cc engine made 24.3 PS and 32 Nm, whereas the 440 cc engine makes 25.4 PS and 34 Nm.
The new 440 gets a minimal semi-digital instrument console, unlike the one on 411, which looked a bit cluttered but had a digital compass and ambient temperature gauge.
It gets an analogue speedometer with a digital inset and a Tripper pod on the side for turn-by-turn navigation, similar to the one on Scram 440.
The halogen headlamp on 411 has been upgraded to an LED headlamp in the Himalayan 440.
Himalayan 411 used to come in six colour options, but the colours on Himalayan 411 have been limited to only three.
It gets a type-C charging port placed under the left-side switchgear, while the 411 used to get a USB type A charging port.
It also gets a special 10-year anniversary badge on the tank to mark a decade of the Himalayan legacy.
