Only cosmetic changes, no updates mechanically or otherwise
Celebrates 70 years of Yamaha with a special red-and-white ‘speed block’ livery
A similar treatment has been given to the R125, R7, and R9 as well
Side panels have 3D effect red tiles and contrasting lower panels painted black
Gets gold colour Yamaha tuning-fork logo and dedicated “70th Anniversary” badge
Retains the standard R3’s 321cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine making 42PS and 29.5Nm
6-speed gearbox with assist & slipper clutch part of standard fitment
Diamond frame suspended by inverted fork and monoshock, rides on 17-inch alloy wheels
Also retains the very accessible 780mm seat height, and fairly low 169kg kerb weight
Braking handled by 298mm front and 220mm rear disc, with switchable dual-channel ABS
Gets same features as standard bike: LCD console, Bluetooth connectivity, and all LED lights
Carries a modest premium, priced at $5,699 vs $5,499 for base (~Rs 5.12 lakh vs Rs 4.93 lakh)
Unlikely to come to India, but we will likely get the current-gen R3 pretty soon
