The greatest scooter ever!

I have two of these - a 2015 model, when it just called VX, and a 2019 model that I bought a couple of weeks back. There's a lot to like about this scooter. It is an ideal city companion, especially in a city like Pune, which probably has the highest concentration of two wheelers in India. You don't have to shift gears, a huge advantage in my book. This scooter also feels more powerful than the rest. It is a breeze to go uphill, and I frequently find myself overtaking other vehicles while going uphill, without really meaning to. The engine placement in the centre of the body makes for a stable and reassuring ride in the monsoons. This feature also comes in handy when heading out of town on a highway. The disc brake up front is great for executing urgent stops, making for a more confident ride in inclement weather.
This is an all-metal body, so you are not going to get as much fuel efficiency as some other scooters that make extensive use of plastics in their bodywork, but then again, I feel it is a small price to pay when you consider the stability, beauty and the ease of bodywork repair.
Also, Vespa is the oldest scooter brand in the world, and is immensely popular the world over. It as a great fan following globally, and for good reason. There is also an Italian word that roughly translates to "rabid Vespa fan" - Vespisti.
What would I change if I could? Fuel injection (I am told it's coming), a port to charge your cellphone, and navigation incorporated into the instrument cluster. Now that would make the perfect transportation machine!
