It stands out with its rectangular headlight, apron-mounted indicators and chrome highlights all around. It is available in two variants: SXL 125 and SXL 125 Sports. Additionally, there’s also the Racing Sixties 125 that comes with a unique, sporty livery and a windscreen.

The scooter also gets a sportier variant named, the Vespa Racing Sixties 125. It is inspired by the 1960s racing era and costs a bit more than the standard variant at Rs 1,42,422 (all prices ex-showroom).

Vespa SXL 125 Features:

Rectangular headlights and rear-view mirrors are the highlights of the SXL range of scooters. The Vespa SXL 125 is equipped with an LED headlight accompanied by DRL. It gets a semi-digital instrument console that displays speed, odometer, trip meter, fuel level, time and basic tell-tale lights. The SXL 125 comes with an under-seat storage lamp and a USB charging port. The Racing Sixties variant features a 1960s-inspired paint job and an additional windscreen.

The Vespa SXL 125 is equipped with a 124.45cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected 3-valve SOHC engine that delivers 9.77PS and 10.11Nm, paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Vespa SXL 125 Suspension & Brakes:

The Vespa SXL 125 gets an ‘aircraft-derived’ bottom link front suspension and a 4-step preload-adjustable hydraulic rear suspension. Braking duties are handled by a 200mm disc at the front and a 141mm drum at the rear with a combined braking system (CBS). The scooter gets a large 7.4-litre fuel tank.

Vespa SXL 125

The SXL 125 gets a neo-retro bodywork inspired by the Vespas of the older days. The scooter gets a rectangular headlight design, rear-view mirrors, and chrome highlights that complement its overall design.

The sportier Racing Sixties variant gets a 1960s-inspired colour scheme with a pinstripe, and an additional windscreen. 

Engine, Mileage & Performance

Vespa SXL 125

The Vespa SXL 125 is powered by a 124.45cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected 3-valve SOHC engine that delivers a total output of 9.77PS at 7400 rpm and 10.11Nm at 5600 rpm, paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The three-valve SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) engine provides better breathing, hence better combustion in the engine as compared to a 2-valve engine. The SXL 125 delivers a real-world tested mileage of 47.75kmpl. This coupled with the reasonably large 7.4-litre fuel tank should provide ample range.

The Vespa SXL 125 should offer responsive handling thanks to the steel monocoque chassis. The ‘aircraft-derived’ bottom link fork is designed to reduce dive under hard braking as compared to a conventional telescopic fork. With a seat height of 770mm, it is accessible to shorter riders.

The SXL 125 gets a long single-piece well-cushioned seat. This along with the upright riding stance should make it comfortable for the city. The large pillion grab handle, while looks a bit crude, is functional enough for the pillion to secure themselves.
