UM Adventure TT Highlights
The DSR Adventure TT which was showcased at this year’s EICMA show in Milan, Italy, will most likely be UM’s adventure motorcycle confirmed to be launched in India in the next few months. In Europe, this motorcycle comes with a 125cc liquid-cooled engine producing 14.9PS and 10.9Nm. It doesn’t really make sense for UM to bring this engine to India. Instead, we feel the bike will either get the 230cc air-cooled engine from the Renegade Duty S or the Renegade Commando / Sports S’ 279.5cc liquid-cooled motor. The former generates 17PS and 17Nm, while the latter pushes out 25.15PS and 23Nm. Depending on the engine, the bike is likely to cost between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Between the two engine configurations, we feel the 230cc motor is the more suitable for the Indian market as it will help keep costs in check, compared to the more sophisticated liquid-cooled engine. Suspension bits should include long travel telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking setup should include disc brakes on both ends, and at least single-channel ABS as standard. When launched, it would lock horns with the upcoming Hero XPulse 200 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
