TVS Jupiter 110 - Introduction
The TVS Jupiter has been one of the highest selling scooters in India, second only to the Honda Activa. It was originally launched in 2013 as an alternative to the Activa and is positioned as a more premium, feature-packed 110cc family scooter. The Jupiter has been loved by Indian family buyers thanks to its comfortable ride quality, good fuel efficiency and practicality. While it has seen many small updates over the years, including the transition to BS6 in 2020, TVS launched an all-new second generation of the Jupiter in 2024. This update got a majorly updated engine, refreshed design and quite a few more features.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time riding the Jupiter right from the first generation scooter to even the latest 2024 model, which had come for a long-term test at BikeDekho. Most of my time on this latest Jupiter - about 3-4 weeks, was spent during my daily commutes from home to office and back, on the congested streets of Pune. And while I haven’t done any inter-city rides on the Jupiter, a big chunk of my commute includes the highway, where I got a chance to stretch its legs too.
Design and Build Quality (4/5)
TVS Jupiter Design
The new TVS Jupiter has received a few sharper design elements, but it still retains the same boxy family scooter package. The new apron mounted LED DRL that runs across the apron and integrates the LED turn indicators looks really stylish and adds a distinct look to the scooter. The handlebar cowl, with its piano black finish contrasts the rest of the scooter really well.

Even at the rear, the way the LED taillight strip seamlessly integrates the rear turn indicators is nothing short of stunning. My overall impression was that the Jupiter looks absolutely stunning in this modern avatar. The best part is that this redesign shows that family oriented scooters don’t need to be boring to look at.
TVS Jupiter Build Quality
The build quality of the Jupiter is excellent, and there are no prominent panel gaps anywhere. The metal side panels and the metal mudguard give the Jupiter a really solid feel. That said, the switchgear, although functional, could have been better. The indicator switch in particular feels a bit flimsy.

And on my long term test scooter, the pass switch had become a bit scratchy to use. Overall though, the matte paint finish along with the metallic badging’s placement on the centre of the body panels and other elements makes the Jupiter look and feel premium and a class apart from its competition.
TVS Jupiter Colours
The Jupiter is available in different colour options, spread between 5 different variants. Take a closer look at all the colours of the Jupiter 110 in our colours explainer.
Features (4/5)
TVS Jupiter Safety Features
The Jupiter gets a combined braking system (SBT or Synchronised Braking Technology, as TVS calls it). This automatically applies the front brake every time you use the rear brake to ensure even brake force distribution, and helps prevent the scooter from skidding when braking hard on a slippery surface.

It also gets an emergency brake warning feature, which automatically flashes the indicators during emergency braking. And although I would not classify this as a true ‘safety feature’, the self cancelling indicators automatically turn off when you’ve finished your turn, and I believe this will help keep riders safer on the road as it won’t send any confusing signals to traffic behind them. The Jupiter now also features a side-stand cut-off feature that won’t let the scooter start if the side stand is still down.
TVS Jupiter Convenience Features
Now I’ve only ridden the SmartXonnect Disc variant of the new Jupiter, and it came with a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity (full features explainer for the Jupiter 110 here). With my smartphone connected using the TVS Connect app, it enabled features like turn-by-turn navigation with voice assist (although I had to use my paired helmet headset for this, but a wired headset with your phone can also work), call/message alerts, and ‘Find my vehicle’ which marked the scooter’s last parked location on the app. Apart from these features, the console also shows average fuel efficiency as well as a distance to empty indicator - the latter of which I really appreciated having. That said, the display itself is quite small, which leaves a lot of dead space in the console housing, and its size also makes it quite hard to read sometimes, as the information can feel a bit cluttered.

The SmartXonnect variants also get a ‘Follow me headlamp’ feature which basically keeps the scooter’s headlight on for a couple of minutes after it's parked - very useful if you’re parking the Jupiter in a dark location. The new Jupiter’s fuel tank is located under the floorboard (first seen on the Jupiter 125), which has not only freed up a lot of space under the seat for storage, but it has also moved the fuel filler cap on the inside of the front apron. This made it extremely convenient when refuelling, as I never had to get off the seat at a petrol pump. There’s also a USB charging port located above the cubby hole on the apron next to the multi-function key slot - great for charging your phone on the go, but this Type-A port has a fairly low output and took forever to charge my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I really wish TVS would’ve given a Type-C port with higher output for today’s larger phones.
Storage and Practicality (4/5)
TVS Jupiter underseat storage
The Jupiter scores really high on practicality. Thanks to the fuel tank being moved to under the floorboard, the underseat storage has become a segment-leading 34-litres, which can easily accommodate two half-face helmets, or even a smaller full-face helmet. I could easily fit my full office backpack - laptop and all, under the seat, or even carry a couple of weeks worth of groceries comfortably. But there’s no boot lamp, which I thought was a bit of a downer.

TVS Jupiter other storage options
The Jupiter’s floorboard is quite substantial, and could easily accommodate my office backpack when I was carrying other things in the underseat storage. But unlike the last-gen Jupiter, this new one only has one spring-loaded hook on the front apron to hang bags from. While it was sufficient to keep my backpack in place on the floorboard. But after just a couple of weeks of use, the spring-loaded mechanism went bust, so the hook would not spring shut after I unhooked my bag.

Adding to storage options on the Jupiter is a cubby hole located on the apron, which is large enough to fit a phone or a small water bottle. But since this isn’t a covered cubby, I couldn’t just leave any valuables in there after I had parked the scooter. There's also the option to install other official add-ons, full explainer in our Jupiter 110 accessories story here.
Comfort (4.5/5)
TVS Jupiter Rider comfort
This is where the Jupiter really shines. The seat is long, wide, and well-cushioned. The spacious seat can easily accommodate riders of all sizes with ease, while offering enough room for both the rider and the pillion to move around as well. At 765mm, the seat height is low enough for shorter riders to get their feet down easily too. The Jupiter 110 offers a relaxed and upright riding posture which doesn’t compromise on comfort when riding in the city, and doesn’t feel uncomfortable at all.

The riding posture is upright and neutral, and the handlebar is positioned high enough to avoid hitting the knees during tight turns. I’m 5’9” and had ample space, and even my taller colleagues didn’t feel cramped. And the best part is that the seat’s padding is firm enough that I didn’t sink into the foam even after a couple of hours on the seat. This kept me comfortable even on relatively longer rides. Long journeys are not tiring as the seat’s foam padding holds up quite well because of the excellent cushioning, and the rider won’t feel his but sinking into the seat and causing discomfort.
TVS Jupiter Pillion comfort
The Jupiter’s large seat offers excellent pillion comfort too. The seat isn’t too high, so even shorter pillions had no problem climbing on. Plus the pillion footpegs are well placed to put pillion riders in a comfortable seating position.

On top of that, the grab rail is chunky and easy to hold, so whoever I had sitting behind me always felt secure. And the slight firmness of the seat cushion helps with pillion comfort as well. Even on long days commuting with a pillion, they never complained about feeling uncomfortable on the Jupiter.
Engine, Performance and Mileage (4/5)
TVS Jupiter Engine
The new Jupiter is powered by a slightly larger 113.3cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 8.02PS of power and 9.2Nm of torque. This new engine also comes with TVS’s patented iGo Assist system which uses the starter-motor-generator to give an electric boost of 0.6Nm to the engine when you suddenly open the throttle. I did a performance test of the new Jupiter, and here’s how it compared to its main rival - the Honda Activa.

TVS Jupiter City performance
The TVS Jupiter is among the quickest 110cc scooters in India, and its responsiveness really shows in the urban environment. It offers a quick throttle response, which makes the scooter feel really peppy. This makes it easy to execute quick overtakes while riding in city traffic without much trouble. The engine is refined for the most part, and offers a smooth riding experience at city speeds. At these speeds, you won’t feel any vibrations, but when I started going faster - above 60kmph, I could feel a minor buzz in the handlebars and floorboard.

TVS Jupiter Highway performance
A 110cc scooter isn’t the best machine for highway use, and the Jupiter doesn’t prove anything otherwise. In my experience, short stints of highway riding were just fine, but beyond 60-65kmph, there were vibrations from the engine, and beyond 70kmph, the Jupiter felt like it lacked power. So I had to properly plan my highway overtakes.

TVS Jupiter mileage
In my testing, the Jupiter delivered an excellent overall mileage of 61.2kmpl, thanks to its idle start-stop system, which automatically killed the engine when I stopped the scooter for a few seconds. However, I had to hold the front brake and open the throttle to start the scooter with this system enabled, and that didn’t always work like advertised. So I would mostly just resort to using the starter button to restart the scooter. This was mostly a minor inconvenience, and I was ok to live with it in exchange for the fantastic mileage. With a 5.1 litre fuel tank, I could easily manage a week’s worth of commuting (around 200km for me) and still leave me with some petrol for weekend chores, before I needed to refuel. Here’s how the Jupiter’s mileage compares with the Honda Activa 6G.

Handling (4/5)
TVS Jupiter underpinnings
The Jupiter gets a telescopic front fork and a 3-step preload adjustable rear shock absorber. It rolls on 12-inch wheels at both ends and gets 90/90-12 size tubeless tyres as standard.

TVS Jupiter City handling
I wouldn’t say that the Jupiter is as sporty or flickable as the TVS NTorq or the Suzuki Access, but it handles city traffic well and feels stable around corners. Moving it around the parking lot was also easy thanks to the light kerb weight of 105-106kg (depending on the variant), and this was made better by the excellent weight distribution. The tight turning radius also made it easy to maneuver in traffic or tight parking spots. The Jupiter’s slightly stiffer suspension keeps the scooter stable when leaned over, and it feels a lot more sporty than a regular family-oriented scooter.

TVS Jupiter Braking
The Jupiter’s braking performance is quite good and the 220mm front petal disc brake, on the SmartXonnect Disc variant, offers really good stopping power and response. The rear 130mm drum brake is not as good as the front disc, but is still decent in terms of feedback or responsiveness. But my biggest gripe with this new Jupiter is that the front disc brake is only available on the top SmartXonnect Disc variant, while the other three variants get a 130mm front drum brake, which simply isn’t as good at bringing the Jupiter to a halt as the disc brake. So if you want to get the Jupiter with a disc brake, but don’t want to pay for the connectivity features, well, you’re out of luck. Here’s how the Jupiter compares to the Activa in terms of braking.

Ride Comfort (3.5/5)
TVS Jupiter ride quality
While the Jupiter’s slightly stiffer suspension makes it a good handler, the ride quality isn’t as plush as the last-gen Jupiter. It can handle most bumps, undulations and potholes without much fuss, but I could still feel the sharper bumps on the road if I rode over them a bit faster. This forced me to slow down drastically for sharp speedbreakers in order to avoid being tossed off the seat.

That said, with a pillion on board, the ride quality felt much better, though still not what I would call plush. Plus, the rear shock absorber’s preload adjustability let me set the ride quality based on whether I was carrying a pillion rider with me, or riding solo.
Verdict (4/5)
Should you buy the TVS Jupiter 110?
If you want a no-nonsense and practical family scooter, the Jupiter 110 should definitely be on your list. It offers good performance and handling for both city and some highway riding, with good fuel efficiency as well. The scooter is an all-rounder that does well in most areas. But those who want more performance from their family scooter might just prefer the Suzuki Access. Of course, while this Jupiter looks a lot less ‘family-oriented’ (read: generic scooter design) than before, it still doesn’t have the sporty edge of something like the TVS NTorq - a scooter which a lot of younger riders might like more. All said and done, if you have decided to purchase the TVS Jupiter on loan, here’s our EMI buying guide, which will make things clearer.

Variants
TVS Jupiter Variants
The TVS Jupiter is available in five variants - Drum, Drum Alloy, SmartXonnect Drum, SmartXonnect Disc, and Special Edition. Here's a quick explanation of all the variants:
| TVS Jupiter 110 Variants | Key Highlights |
| Drum | Cheapest variant, gets all the bare necessities |
| Drum Alloy | A little more stylish, thanks to alloy wheels |
| SmartXonnect Drum / Disc | Gets smartphone-connected features, electric assist & more - We'd recommend going for the disc variant as it gets a disc up front |
| Special Edition | Same as SmartXonnect Disc variant, but with fancier colours |
My recommendation is the SmartXonnect Disc variant as it gets all the fancy features plus the safety of a front disc. While there's a lot of flexibility with budget and corresponding features in other variants, I really feel it's unfair that TVS doesn’t offer the front disc option in any of the non SmartXonnect variants.
Competition Check

- Comfortable running but very poor milageI chose this bike as I used activa for 15 years I wanted change. Having considered other references form friends I purchased this. I got delivery on right time and right colour and model. I wanted to purchase 125 cc but looking the looks and style I purchased 113 cc Ride is no doubt very smooth and comfortable but biggest con is the mileage. The company claims about its mileage appears to me completely false. Even after first service this bike is giving only 33 average while my previous bike after 14 years was giving 32 mileage. Some times i regret purchasing it. The other thing is its fuel tank which is under foot rest you do not get any idea about the petrol left while running on reserve. Range function on dashboard does not give proper information. At one time this shows 40kms to be run in reserve immediately thereafter it shows 0 and after running 20 kms further it starts blinking you do not get any idea how much it will run further to exhaust petrol to works out exact mileage. I will recommend bike only to customers who have small use of bike. For the people whose uses is higher should not go for it because of its mileage. You can purchase it for smooth and comfortable ride but not for mileage.Read More21 6
- TVS jupiterThe looks are amazing and we are getting many features in low range. Very modern looks with connected led lights at front and back both rear headlights. The boot space is very big and best for shopping. You can keep 2 helmets in the boot space. The ride is positive and very smooth ride . We ride this scooter. It gives the best mileage in segment. For long rides this scooty is so much comfortable, plus we are getting a back rest seat for rear passenger. Yes I would surely recommend this scooter because the reasons are already mentioned above. The service cost is too low and affordable for middle class . You should get this scooter and trust me it will be your best purchase. We have purchased 3 Jupiter top models.Read More6 2
- TVS Jupiter - Still Going Strong After One Year"I have been using my TVS Jupiter for over a year now, and it has been a very reliable companion for my daily commute. After riding it for more than 12 months, I can say that its engine smoothness is still intact. The ride quality is very comfortable, especially on bumpy roads, thanks to its large wheels and good suspension. Pros: Comfort: The seat is wide and very comfortable for long rides. Mileage: Even after a year, it is giving a decent mileage of around 45-50 kmpl. Build Quality: The metal body makes it feel sturdy and durable. External Fuel Fill: Very convenient as I don't have to get off the scooter at petrol pumps. Cons: Cold Start: Sometimes it takes 2-3 kicks to start on very cold mornings. Service Cost: Authorized service center charges are a bit high.Read More4 6
