I've been a hardcore fan of Pulsar and still believe it is the best thing that has happened to Indian biking. Pulsar upped the game for Indian manufacturers and has brought every other bike maker (Desi/ Videsi) to a larger arena.
Have rode my first Pulsar 150 for nearly 10 years and over 1.5 lakh kms. I was one of the first ones to ridicule the TVS Apache, on its first look, which I believed was a poor copy of the Pulsar then.
But things have moved fast. I had come to a stage where I very rarely use a two wheeler, and actually owned no bike for any purpose, but still, driving around with shades on, admired the new Pulsars and the contest it has created on the streets. I would always suggest a younger friend to go for the Pulsar, whichever is the latest, as a sagely advice. Would always skip past the Yamahas, Suzukis and Apaches in the auto mags and read only about, you know what!
That all came to an end when I laid my eyes on the, rather very rare, RTR 200 in 2016. I signed up for a test ride with both the new Apache and the 200+ Pulsars (RS, AS & NS). And it seemed to me that TVS handed me my 'humble-pie' on a platter with style.
I'm a proud owner of a Matte Black horse for the past two years, and I believe this is one of the best decisions I've made. This Apache brought me out of my car and made me a road beast, that I used to be in early 00s. Needless to mention the attention you get while you ride this. Man it's worth it!!
