Do a test drive before you buy the bike

I too had a dream to own a thunderbird like any other enfield fan. I had booked and got a 350cc twin spark thunderbird without even test driving it. It looked amazing and quickly had lots of people looking at it due to its sheer beauty.But the performance was really unpleasant. I have ridden several bikes over years .But this thunderbird had vibrations way out of my comfort level. I could feel the vibration on the handle and even on the petrol tank. After a 50 km commute , I couldnt feel my underthighs and my back ached really bad. Also the front disc wasnt properly tuned as the wheel locked at several instances which should never happen .I fell twice from the bike , the second time breaking my wrist. The back brake is utterly useless.When I took the bike to the service centre and complaint.They said these were common complaints of all the new thunderbird owners. The bike never took off above 100km/hr(It vibrates badly at this speed).Now I have sold the bike and am quite happy. My advice to all would be is to take the new thunderbird twin spark 350 cc for a test drive before buying it..and if possible ,try to avoid it..
