5th: TVS XL100

This list is dominated by motorcycles and scooters, but slotting into 5th place is neither of the two. Because the TVS XL100, which sold 617,427 units in the last financial year, is a moped.

4th: Honda Shine

The first bike on the list is the might Honda Shine. Taking over from the equally popular CB Shine, this BS6 upgrade managed to shift nearly a million units last year, with the final tally standing at 988,201 units.

3rd: Hero HF Deluxe

Honda's erstwhile partner Hero MotoCorp grabbed 3rd spot with its HF Deluxe commuter motorcycle. This rugged workhorse managed to find 1,661,272 new homes in 2020-21, comprehensively edging out the Shine.

2nd: Honda Activa

The only scooter to make it into the top 5 was the prolific Honda Activa. It knocked on the door of 2 million sales over the last 12 months, finally rounding out the year at 1,939,640 units.

1st: Hero Splendor

But the king of the ring continues to be the unflappable Hero Splendor, which sold a mammoth 1,960,001 units in the financial year that went by.
