Revolt RV300 RV400 Free Battery Swap Offer Extended To March 31st

  • Both the Revolt RV300 and RV400 get swappable batteries.
  • Under the scheme, Revolt customers can swap batteries for free at a Revolt Switch station.
  • Switch stations will be set up outside Revolt showrooms in cities the electric motorcycles are sold in.

At the launch of the Revolt RV400 and RV300 in August last year, the company had promised free battery swapping for its new customers till December 31st, 2019. That offer has now been extended to March 31st, 2020. Post this, might have to pay a nominal charge every time they swap out their drained battery for a fully-charged one, or pay a yearly subscription fee to use the Switch station. This is something Revolt has not revealed yet. The Revolt Switch stations will be placed outside Revolt dealerships and at strategic locations across the city.

The reason for extending the offer is to allow more new customers to benefit from it. A shortage in its supply chain meant Revolt could not deliver the electric motorcycles to its customers, thereby depriving them of the free swapping offer. This extension is a means to amend that.

Both the Revolt RV400 and RV300 come with swappable lithium-ion batteries. You can take out the battery and charge it at home or plug in the motorcycle itself to a household socket. The RV400’s larger battery takes around 3 hours to charge from 0-75 percent and 4.5 hours to charge from 0-100 percent. Its smaller cousin, the RV300’s battery takes 3 hours to charge from 0-75 percent and 4.2 hours to charge from 0-100 percent. The quickest way to get a full charge is to swap out the drained battery with a new one at Revolt’s Switch stations, a process that takes less than a minute.

Another benefit of battery swapping is that you do not have to worry about battery warranty. Even without the swap, Revolt is offering a 7.5 years/ 1.5 lakh km warranty on the battery pack.
