The brand's flagship model, the Tork T6X, is expected to be launched soon

Homegrown electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Tork Motors, has received an undisclosed amount as investment from none other than Ratan Tata. This investment should help Tork fast-track the launch of its electric motorcycle, the T6X, which the company says will take place soon.

The company also laid down the foundation of its first charging station in Pune. Interestingly, the station supports charing for vehicles from different manufacturers as well. As for the T6X, expect the bike to be priced around Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) after FAME-II subsidies. Once launched, it will face stiff competition from the Revolt RV400 that created waves in the electric motorcycle industry with its unique price plan and feature list.

The T6X is powered by a lithium-ion battery and a 6kW brushless DC motor that delivers a claimed top speed of 100kmph. A company claimed range of 100km on a single charge should be sufficient for your daily runabout. Fortunately, the battery can be charged up to 80 per cent in a span of an hour just in case you run out of juice.
