M2GO X-1 and Civitas Electric Scooters Launched In India

X-1 is priced at Rs 94,000 and Civitas at Rs 1.08 lakh

• M2GO has partnered with Chinese scooter maker Wang Ye to sell its electric scooters in India.
• Bookings for the X-1 and Civitas are open while deliveries will commence from November this year. 
• The scooters offer a claimed range of 120km, have a removable lithium-ion battery pack. 
• The company will launch two more electric scooters soon. 

M2GO has launched two new electric scooters in India. The smaller X-1 is priced at Rs 94,500 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the retro-styled Civitas costs Rs 1.09 lakh. Both scooters are only available in Delhi at a booking amount of Rs 5,100. Deliveries of the X-1 will commence from November 20 while deliveries of the Civitas will start November 30 onwards. 

The X-1 offers a sharper moto scooter styling and has features such as LED headlamp, digital instrument console, anti-theft alarm, USB charging and Bluetooth connectivity. The retro-styled Civitas looks like Vespa from the front and its side panels are similar to the Yamaha Fascino. It gets a conventional halogen type headlamp, LED tail lamps and an instrument console. Features include a semi-digital instrument console, anti-theft alarm, and a USB charging port.

Both scooters get a 2kW Bosch electric motor. The claimed top speed of the Civitas and X-1 is 85kmph and 60kmph respectively. While the scooters get a lithium-ion battery pack, the X-1 has a smaller 60V 26Ah battery while the Civitas has a 72V 29Ah battery. The claimed range of both scooters is 120km. 

The scooters have 12-inch alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres. Braking is via disc brakes at both ends. Besides the X-1 and Civitas, M2GO will be launching two new electric scooters called the C-one and Zuma. Both get smaller 1.2kW electric motors and will be priced lower than the current models.
