The Maestro Edge 125 is likely to feature fuel injection (FI) for lower emissions, better fuel efficiency as well as smoother throttle response. If Hero equips the scooter with FI, it would be the first scooter in the country to get this system. That said, Hero could make the scooter BS 6 ready and not compliant for now, for the sake of competitive pricing. The Maestro Edge 125’s engine is most likely to be shared with the Destini 125’s unit. It makes 8.8PS and 10.2Nm in the Destini but expect the motor to have a slightly sportier state of tune in the Maestro Edge 125. It will also feature i3S (Idle Stop Start System) for enhanced fuel-efficiency.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Maestro Edge is likely to command a premium of around Rs 5000 - Rs 6000 over the Destini 125. For reference, the Destini starts from Rs 57,930 (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the 2019 Pleasure is likely to be dearer by around Rs 4000 to Rs 6000 over the Pleasure, which costs Rs 47,100 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the alloy wheel variant. Once launched, the Maestro Edge 125 would compete against the TVS Ntorq 125 and Honda Grazia, whereas the 2019 Pleasure would go head to head with the Honda Activa i and TVS Wego.
