Some Kawasaki dealers are unofficially accepting booking for the upcoming KLX 230 S
Bookings for the Kawasaki KLX 230 S in India have unofficially begun in some dealerships, and customers can now book the upcoming Kawasaki bike for Rs 10,000. According to our sources, official bookings will begin soon at all Kawasaki dealerships across the country.
The KLX 230 S is an upcoming dual-sport offering from the Japanese manufacturer. It has been spotted testing in India, multiple times in the past. The bike features a typical dirt bike design, with a slender profile, a raised fender, a single piece seat and long travel suspension.
The bike is powered by a 233cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 19PS and 19.8Nm. The KLX 230 S is built on a perimeter frame, and features a suspension setup that consists of a telescopic fork and monoshock. The telescopic fork offers 158mm wheel travel and the monoshock offers 168mm of wheel travel, and the bike’s overall ground clearance comes to 210mm.
Talking about features, the KLX 230 S will offer a LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology App. Other than this, the bike also offers switchable rear ABS, which is a welcome addition for off-road enthusiasts.
We expect the bike to be launched in the coming weeks.. Kawasaki has localized the manufacturing of the bike, so the KLX 230 S could be priced competitively, coming at a price that is around the 2 lakh mark ex-showroom.
In the dual-sport segment, the Hero XPulse 200 4v is the main rival that the KLX 230 S could go up against. But recently we came across spy shots of the upcoming XPulse 210, so the KLX will have some major competition coming up.
