This week was filled with interesting launches and unveils including retro roadsters, an electric scooter and the much-awaited Ola electric bikes!
This week was super-packed with major bike news coming from all directions including unveils and new bike launches. Our 78th Indian Independence Day, 15 August 2024, was quite action-packed too. If you happened to miss out on some of the action, here’s a quick news recap for you:
1. Updated 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Unveiled
The updated 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 was unveiled in India. The 350cc roadster comes with a range of upgrades including modern features and different colour options. Royal Enfield will reveal the prices later, on September 1, 2024. Apart from these updates, the new Classic 350 remains the same in terms of engine and hardware.
2. Updated 2024 Jawa 42 Launched
The 2024 Jawa 42 was launched in India this week and is over Rs 16k cheaper than before. The bike now comes in 3 variants and 6 new colour options, bringing the total number of colour schemes to 14. Jawa has updated the bike with a new J-Panther engine, a retuned suspension setup and a new more comfortable single-piece seat.
3. All-new Ola Roadster Electric Bike Range Launched
On the 78th Independence Day, Ola Electric launched the much-awaited Ola Roadster electric bike range in India. The Ola Roadster range includes three models: Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro. All 3 bikes have a similar futuristic roadster design, however, each model comes with different motors, battery options, and prices and caters to different segments. With impressive claimed ranges of up to 579km and top speeds reaching 194kmph, all three bikes come feature-packed with fully digital consoles and a lot of advanced features.
4. All-new BSA Gold Star Launched
The iconic British motorcycle brand BSA is back in India. The brand launched the BSA Gold Star on the 78th Indian Independence Day. The BSA Gold Star is a retro-roadster, which is powered by a BIG 652cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 45.6PS and 55Nm. It will rival the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is powered by a 650cc parallel twin-cylinder engine. With its big single-cylinder engine, the Gold Star should offer a unique riding experience.
5. TVS iQube Celebration Edition Launched
To celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day, TVS launched the iQube “Celebration Edition” as a limited edition model. The new iQube Celebration Edition comes in a dual-tone orange and black colour scheme with a tricolour sticker on the flyscreen representing the Indian National Flag. The TVS iQube Celebration Edition is only available in the iQube 3.4kWh and iQube S variants and the production of both is limited to 1,000 units of each.
