Ather 450 Electric Scooter Deliveries Commence In Chennai

Deliveries of the remaining batch will begin soon

• The Ather 450 is around Rs 9,000 more expensive in Chennai than Bengaluru. 
• Ather has set up several fast-charging stations in Chennai as well. 
• It had also launched a home charging point called the Ather Dot some time ago.

Back in July, Ather Energy launched its electric scooters in Chennai and the response was so overwhelming that just after a few days of launch, both the scooters were sold out till November. Now though, the manufacturer has commenced deliveries of its top-spec scooter, the 450. 

The Ather 450 retails at Rs 1.22 lakh (on-road) in Chennai, which is around Rs 9,000 more than what it retails for in Bengaluru. This price difference could be due to the 4 per cent road tax imposed by the government of Tamil Nadu.

The EV maker has also launched a home charging point called the Ather Dot, which comes along with the scooter. Ather could install it at your residence for a sum of Rs 1,800 (includes installation charges, labour charges and more). 

Until now, the Ather 450 has been the top-dog in the electric two-wheeler space, but Bajaj has now entered into this segment with the all-electric Chetak. Bajaj has shared a limited amount of information about the Chetak, but whatever we know so far, is pretty impressive.
