At outset, I am a CBR Fan. Please guide me, if I am pampering CBR anywhere. I own two CBr Bikes. One in Vadodra, One in Mumai. My 2009 model CBr in Mumbai has clocked 30000 Kms till date. My 2012 model in CBR Vadodra in has done 5000 kms till date. 2009 modelr in hometown is very good. I use it sparingly now a days.(last one year I am working in Vadodra) But it gets started in single kick. Of course the self start will work only after few minutes of riding in the morning. There has been no mechanical issues till date. Once I had to Change the fork after hitting a Mad drivers car. Other than that my 2009 model Hero Honda CBr is a real super star. Not even a puncture till date. Mileage is also decent I believe. There are no rattling after 30000 kms. Coming to my 2012 model Hero splendor in Chennai It is very convenient to ride in city roads. Easy to handle.(I am 65 kgs/ 176 cms) Self start is good Pick up is sufficient to move ahead when the traffic signal turns green. But, 1.The head light is very poor. Poorer than a TVS 50 I believe. 2.When shifting gear, it gives a hard sound something like ’tuk tuk’ 3. At times gear wont shift, a feeling like it falls in between two gears.(like between first and second) and the vehicle jumps and then hiccups. 4.I changed my Oil seal for front suspension thrice in 11 months and still its leaking. I don’t know the reason and the service guy also don’t know the reason. I believe old Hero Honda is better than Hero Motocorp Splendor. But even then, Heromoto corp splendor is better than Bajaj bikes which comes like flashfloods into the market and then disappear. It is advisable to maintain speeds of 60-70. At higher speeds stability is an issue. I have tried upto 95 kilometers on highways on both versions of splendor. For your safety, ride at that speed only if the road is empty and smooth. Due to low curb weight and lack of discs etc, chances of skidding are high if you brake at that speeds. It offers good stability at 60s and 70s. Overall. cBRis value for money. It suits a man with normal daily needs.
